ARRO Lighting and Events moved into Enterprise Hub Fife’s premises in Glenrothes two and a half years ago – and said it was perfect for their business.

The company was founded in 2014 by Aaron Andrews and Ross Syme, and they settled on Glenrothes when they were looking for an office where they could conduct national and international business.

ARRO has produced and delivered a wide range of projects across the UK, from Christmas illuminations to 3D mapping projections to working with architects to deliver artistic and cultural lighting installations, urban and landscape projects permanent, with design, imagination and creativity at the forefront.

Stirling’s festive lights designed by Kirkcaldy, ARRO Lighting and Events

Aaron said, “We really needed to be able to have a private space and the right work environment for our business. Our lighting is all sourced and manufactured in Spain to our designs, and it’s important that Ross and I can collaborate in the same space and have excellent broadband for our client zoom calls.

A three-year project saw ARRO design and supply Christmas lights in Dundee featuring comic characters from the Beano, and tap into the city’s maritime heritage for other displays. She recently designed and supplied new festive lights for Stirling city center influenced by 1950s/1960s nostalgia and based on the city’s traditional and historical heritage.

Aaron added: “It’s a lifelong passion of ours to be able to leave a legacy, wherever we install creations, and not just provide ready-to-use designs. We want visitors, tourists and residents to be able to immerse themselves in the storytelling of works of art that are relevant to individual streetscapes.

Enterprise Hub Fife is designed to provide enterprising individuals and start-ups with access to a facility that encourages collaboration and networking. The flexible workspace offers modern, professional and affordable offices as well as adaptable event space and private meeting rooms.

ARRO also received advice and support from Business Gateway Fife advisor Stephen Mitchell, who was able to secure expert assistance for the business to support copyright and legal contracts.

Demand for India’s petroleum products in October rose month-on-month by 113,000 barrels per day, supported by a pick-up in economic activity during the post-monsoon season and the Diwali festival, according to S&P Global Commodity. Insights. Demand increased over the year by 130,000 barrels per day, driven by diesel and gasoline, which increased by 83,000 barrels and 67,000 barrels respectively.

So your due date is December? First of all, congratulations! You almost made it. Now on to the trickier stuff: how to call your imminent arrival…

With Christmas almost upon us, there are actually a lot of cute winter-inspired names for boys and girls based on festive movie characters, carols, and – of course – the nativity scene.

The Funky Pigeon card retailer team analyzed Newly released baby name data from the ONS to reveal the most popular baby names who shout the festive spirit. Here’s what they found.

Top Christmas inspired baby names for girls

Topping the list for girls is the name Ivy (think Christmas carol: “Holly and the Ivy”) with 2,245 babies given this name in 2021. It ranked fifth of all girl names in the UK.

Next on the list is Bella (think Christmas bells), with 730 baby girls given that name in 2021, ranking 72nd overall.

And in third place is – unsurprisingly – Holly (one of December’s birth flowers). According to the ONS, 568 baby girls were given this name in 2021, which ranks it 95th among all girl names in the UK.

Here is the complete list of names for girls:

1. Ivy – one of the two plants mentioned in the Christmas carol ‘the holly and the ivy’.

2. bella – a nod to Christmas bells

3. holly – again, carol. See also: adorn rooms with holly sprigs.

4. Anne – the name of one of the main characters from Disney’s winter hit, Frozen.

5. gabriel – the feminine form of Gabriel, the name of the angel sent to tell Mary that she was pregnant with Jesus

6. Standby – think: Christmas Eve.

seven. Married – the mother of Jesus.

8. Beautiful – a variation on Bella.

9. Gloria – of “Gloria in excelsis Deo”, a Christian hymn sung at Christmas.

ten. Elsa – also from Disney’s winter classic, Frozen.

11. Angelina – a diminutive of the first name Angela, meaning “Messenger of God”.

12. Noelle – feminine form of Noel or Noël meaning “of or born at Christmas”.

13. Star – the Magi followed the North Star to reach the birthplace of Jesus.

14. Jovie – the name of Buddy’s love interest in the 2003 film Elf, played by Zooey Dechannel.

15. Snow – This one really speaks for itself.

Top Christmas inspired baby names for boys

First on the boys list is Jack with 2,847 baby boys given this name in 2021, making it the 13th most popular boy name in the UK.

Although the name doesn’t sound particularly Christmas, it’s the name of key characters in the film such as Jack Frost and Jack Skellington (The Nightmare Before Christmas).

In second place is Joseph (as in Mary’s husband at nativity) with 1,307 baby boys bearing the name in 2021.

And in third place is Gabriel, with 749 boys given this name last year. Gabriel is the name of the angel who was sent to tell Mary she was pregnant.

Here is the full list of names for boys:

1. Jack – Popular Christmas movie characters Jack Skellington and Jack Frost share the name.

2. joseph – husband of Mary, mother of Jesus

3. Gabrielle – the name of the angel sent to tell Mary that she is pregnant with Jesus.

4. Luke – the Gospel of Luke contains the birth of Christ and is therefore all about Christmas.

5. Nicholas – a tribute to Saint-Nicolas (Santa Claus).

6. Kevin – the main character of the popular Christmas movie Home Alone.

seven. Franc – a nod to incense, one of the gifts offered by the wise.

8. Christian – Christmas is a Christian holiday.

9. Immanuel – Emmanuel is one of the names of Jesus Christ in the Bible.

ten. Timothy – the character Tiny Tim plays a key role in Scrooge’s redemption in A Christmas Carol.

11. Buddy – the name of the protagonist played by Will Ferrell in the 2003 Christmas movie Elf.

12. Christmas – Noel or Noël is derived from the old French word, “nael”, which means “of or born at Christmas”.

13. clark – From the National Lampoon’s Christmas protagonist, Clark Griswold.

14. Olaf – the name of the snowman’s sidekick in Disney’s winter hit, Frozen.

15. Clement – named after the author of the 1823 poem A Visit from St. Nicholas (commonly known as The Night Before Christmas), Clement Clarke.

Names regardless of gender

Data from Google Trends suggests that searches for gender-neutral names are on the rise. Some festive-inspired unisex names include marley (last name of Scrooge’s former business partner, Robert Marley), robin (as in the magnificent red-breasted bird seen all over Christmas cards), Faith, Winter, Joy and heaven.

India is a country of diverse communities and religions, with a wide variety of festivals. These are times of celebration and feasting with our family and friends. Diwali is the most exciting time of the year, from boxes of decorations to put up to making rangolis, from lavish meals to cook and eat to parties and get-togethers. The holiday season brings all the flavors and our house is overflowing with sweets and namkeens.

Navigating the holiday season isn’t so easy for anyone worried about their health, and especially if you’re living with a chronic condition, whether it’s obesity, hypertension or type 2 diabetes.

But don’t worry, with the holiday season almost behind us, you can start taking small but determined steps to get back into a healthy routine, even if it might feel boring at first after the chaotic energies of the festivities.

Here are some tips for healthy eating after the festivities:

1. Stay hydrated

Water is necessary for proper functioning, regulates body temperature, promotes metabolism, flushes out toxins and waste, helps transport nutrients to where they are needed. Since you must have consumed junk food, fried and greasy namkeens, sweets, and alcohol, your body must have been dehydrated. Consuming a good amount of water will prevent constipation. Water is also essential for kidney function, so stay well hydrated

2. Stay away from processed foods

Instead of eating home-cooked meals, those who eat processed foods and canned foods can develop heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, increased cholesterol, cancer, and depression. Now that the festival is over, try to limit the consumption of processed foods for at least a month. Increase the number of fruits and vegetables, healthy fats in your diet, such as those found in nuts, seeds, and omega supplements.

3. Avoid alcohol and sugar

After the festive season, it would be wise to abstain from alcohol and sugar. The benefits of this healing process for the body include better sleeping habits, more energy, help with weight reduction, no hangovers, improved blood sugar levels, better skin health and reduced risk of mental health problems.

4. Have digestible foods

After eating all those processed and fried foods, rest your digestive system by not eating hard-to-digest foods. Consume low fat and high protein foods like dal, vegetable khichdi, dhokla, upma soups, dalia without milk. All these dishes are nutritious and digestible

5. Consume metabolism-boosting beverages

There are many metabolism boosting drinks you can try such as green tea, ginger tea, apple cider vinegar, fennel tea, ajwain water, cinnamon drink for a better intestinal (stomach) health.

6. Include Probiotics and Antioxidants

Include probiotic rich foods such as kefir, kimchi yogurt, dhokla, dosa in your diet. As they contain good bacteria and are good for intestinal health.

7. Stick to your workout routine

With so much festivity, it’s so easy to lose sight of your fitness goals. When the festivities are over, instead of feeling discouraged or procrastinating, you should get back to your exercise routine. Start with light exercises and progress to intense exercises. Make sure you are consistent with your exercise routines. Some of the best and easiest exercise routines are cycling and jogging. Later, you can move on to intense classes like gym, pilates to get back in shape.

8. Rebalance your diet

Even if you’ve indulged in festive foods, whether fried or sweet, don’t be too hard on yourself and fall into the trap of guilt. Start again in small steps to find a healthy and balanced diet. Set your meal times again. Increase your intake of fiber, protein and complex carbohydrates. In case there are any leftover namkeens or sweets, distribute them evenly among other relatives or family members so that you are not tempted to finish it on your own.

9. Catch up on your sleep delay

Lacking sleep to reunite with friends and family and join in the festivities sounds like fun. But lack of sleep makes everything worse, it makes blood sugar unmanageable, worsens blood pressure and makes you overeat. So now that the holiday season is over, put the web series on pause and get some good sleep. Rest is important and will make all the difference to your body and mind.

10.Schedule a visit with your doctor and dietitian

Start your post-festival health care plan with a visit to a dietitian. Discuss your diet and lifestyle over the past few days and weeks and let them guide you through the next steps. This visit will be very beneficial as it will help you understand your eating habits and ways to improve them. Your visit to the doctor will help measure vital signs and investigate any lab tests like cholesterol, sugar, lipids if necessary.

As employers seek staff earlier than ever this year, Vero Screening urges companies to seek proper onboarding checks and avoid unnecessary risk

Searches for temporary jobs containing the word “Christmas” rose 244% in October compared to the same period last year, according to recruiter Indeed Flex*.

The increase shows employers have started the process of recruiting seasonal staff earlier than usual this year, as businesses across the UK prepare for their first ‘normal’ Christmas in three years thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. Covid-19.

Vero Screening, one of Europe’s leading job screening providers, says the change in seasonal hiring this year should primarily serve to remind employers of the massive increase in gig workers resulting from the pandemic. and the risks posed to the most vulnerable people at the time as well.

So what do you need to watch out for as temporary workers this Christmas – and what are the risks to your company of hiring in a hurry, in what is shaping up to be a busier than usual festive season in 2022?

Virginia McFarlane-Watts, business development manager at Vero, explains, “Gig workers often come into contact with vulnerable people – children, the elderly, or people confined to their homes. They will generally work independently, receiving less supervision than a typical office-based employee, for example, perhaps making deliveries or meeting the general public as part of a festive themed service offering.

“This in turn requires a higher level of trust from service users and employers, and this is something that is very true for the Christmas period. Delivery drivers were in high demand during the pandemic, just as they are during the holiday season, for example, which means plenty of hiring practices are needed to ensure that the risk to your business, its employees – and especially your customers – is understated this Christmas. ”

To help HR practitioners, business managers and other professionals tasked with hiring temporary staff this Christmas, Vero’s background check experts have therefore identified the following as basic typical checks to perform on seasonal workers and on request:

  • Criminal record checks
  • Driving license checks
  • Employment Verification
  • Education Verification
  • Right to work checks

Virginia said: “When hiring temporary employees, it’s important to remember the higher turnover rates that are typically involved – they may seek to use this as a stepping stone to more permanent employment, or simply see their opportunity with you as a ‘stop gap’ until something better comes along. Therefore, the onboarding process for temporary workers may be too fast for employment to start as soon as possible. »

“But it’s important for anyone looking to hire temporary staff this Christmas to remember that while they won’t be with your company for long, their actions could have a lasting and ultimately costly impact. In our experience, these are the checks that can act as an additional check on the background and reliability of the site worker, therefore.

Vero Screening is a market-leading screening provider with a global reach and, as Accurate Background Inc, is the largest independent UK-based provider of outsourced screening services, providing expert knowledge and world-class employment screening services for clients in over 200 countries. .

Hyderabad: Dussehra and Diwali have ended this year, but festive discounts and special offers are still going on in the residential and commercial real estate segments, pushing up sales across India. According to property experts, property sales will continue during this season until the Pongal festival in January 2023.

This holiday season comes at a time when consumer demand is already robust across all sectors and, in fact, real estate has seen the strongest rise relative to other segments. Additionally, strong market sentiments similar to pre-Covid levels have boosted demand this festive season, said Rajan Bandelkar, chairman of the National Real Estate Development Council (Naredco).

“The October-December (Q4) quarter of 2022, which typically sees healthy demand, is expected to continue the tradition this year and in fact would see a significant year-over-year increase in home sales. at a time when interest rates are on the rise, developers have offered festival-specific solutions including simple EMIs and innovative financing models to support homebuyers,” he said.

Given the surge in the propensity to own a home and the presence of attractive offers, the outlook for the residential real estate sector is quite robust for the fourth quarter of 2022. “Also during the holiday season, more sales will happen.People are always waiting for auspicious days to book their properties,” said G Ram Reddy, Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (Credai).

The residential real estate segment is experiencing a boom in this festive season. Homebuyers generally tend to invest in properties during the holiday season, as this is a great time to buy a home. Home loan interest rates have increased but this has not really affected the growing demand as rates are still lower than pre-pandemic levels.

Developers across the country are anticipating high demand and thus launching several new projects with new features and conveniences. Builders also offer freebies and other enticing incentives to tempt buyers. However, it’s important to note that holiday season deals are only relevant when shoppers think they’re getting a good deal, said Raksha Ramaiah, director of MS Ramaiah Developers. He said: “Festive offers are a good way to eliminate unsold inventory. This holiday season, the sentiments of people looking to upgrade to larger homes with better facilities could boost home purchases. The incentives of the holiday season are given out every year, but this year it could be key to ensuring that the prolonged sales growth continues in the coming quarters.”

Talking about the commercial real estate segment, Ramaiah said that it has witnessed phenomenal growth in the third quarter of 2022 and is confident to go from strength to strength during this festive season. The segment remains buoyant with favorable economic and market sentiment which will drive demand for commercial real estate in the coming months. The recovery from the pandemic, rapid recall campaigns and emerging workplace trends have also boosted demand in the commercial sector. The commercial real estate sector has been doing well for the past few months and should continue to do so. The office space segment has seen growing demand from startups and small businesses.

Ramaiah adds, “Amid the trend of office reopening, as most companies pursue ‘work from home’ and the hybrid working model, various companies are cautious about their expansion plans and considering bringing back employees in the office. This indicates positive signs of demand for offices and flexible workspaces.”

He adds, “The commercial segment is in a safe place and ready with a considerable amount of space rental activity also taking place ahead of the festive season. Builders are presenting attractive deals and offers on completed reservations Other investor-friendly offers are also being distributed to increase buying and selling activity in the trading sector, and the festive season is a good time for that.”

Katrina Kaif is one of the most amazing actresses in Bollywood. There is no doubt that she is a beauty queen and always has been. The Phone Bhoot actress believes in dressing comfy and chic and always manages to turn heads with her fashion game. Although she’s a killer in every outfit she wears, traditional clothing hits differently and every Katrina fan will agree with that. Since the festive season is approaching, Kat has blessed our feeds with some of the best ethnic looks at several Diwali celebrations. We bring you some of her best looks.

Stunning in red

Red is such a beautiful color and it can never go wrong during festival time. Katrina Kaif wore a red colored sari and looked like a firecracker herself. She wore a red saree with gold work on it and had a thin gold border. The actress kept her hair open, wore large golden jhumkas and completed her look with minimal makeup. Her smoky eyes, dewy makeup, and luscious lips make her breathtaking. A simple but exceptional look in which Katrina shines like a diva.

sheer black saree

Is there anyone who doesn’t look good in black? Well, at least it’s every girl’s favorite color and you’ll find tons of black outfits in every girl’s wardrobe. Katrina was sizzling in a sheer, blingy black saree. She wore a see-through sari by famous designer Sabyasachi. Her saree featured a finely ruffled border extended along the pallu and a sexy blouse with a deep plunging neckline. Ms. Kaushal accessorized the saree with a pair of earrings, two sets of chunky bracelets and a striking ring. She kept her hair open with a center parting to amp up her evening look. She once again opted for smoky eyes and looked sultry in this ensemble.

Katrina’s Golden Saree

Katrina has often made us fall in love with her look, especially when she drapes a saree. Diwali was one of those occasions when we saw her in several gorgeous saree looks and each look stood out from the rest. In the photo she shared last night with Vicky Kaushal to wish her fans on Diwali, she chose a gold drape filled with sequins. Stripes of sequins were spread across the nine yards which, we must add, also complemented the sparkling Diwali vibes. She rocked the saree with a strappy metallic blouse. For the accessories, she maintained a fine balance between minimal and efficient. She sported a heavy pair of multicolored jeweled earrings, a statement ring and a pair of traditional kada bracelets.

The dreamy vibes

It’s not always necessary to wear dazzling and blingy outfits for festivals. Take inspiration from Katrina Kaif on how to kill in a simple color. She looked attractive in a teal colored chiffon saree with a gorgeous silver embellished sleeveless blouse that featured an attractive back. She decided to amp up her look with a pair of heavy green gold earrings and some striking gold rings that grabbed all the attention.
