JAMMU, September 17: The two-day event at Surinsar Mansar Lake Festival kicked off on Saturday with local cultural performances, adventure activities, LED tron ​​act and dynamic laser show at Surinsar Lake.

The festival was inaugurated by Chief Secretary, J&K Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta in the presence of Jammu Divisional Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar and Jammu Director of Tourism, Vivekanand Rai and Sh. Gurwinder Jeet Singh, CEO of Development Authority by Surinsar Mansar.
The day activities started from two adventure events, namely trekking from Nagrota to Aithem via Pehad Devta and aid climbing in Surinsar in association with M/s Tawi Adventures. The breathtaking view of the highlands and greenery of Shivalik on the spiritual journey to Baba Pehad was indeed scenic while the challenge of aid climbing was daring. More than 100 participants from different schools and colleges took part in these activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Viveknanda Rai said Surinsar Lake is an ideal weekend gateway for travellers. The event is a small business aiming to develop some sort of activity near Lake Surinsar, which is also a Ramsar protection site. , cultural entertainment and adventure.
Later in the evening, a nature walk was conducted around the serene Surinsar Lake in association with the Wildlife Protection Department. The nature walk was attended by various officers/officials from the Department of Tourism, Surinsar Mansar Development Authority Forestry Department, students from SMVDU, GGM Science College, etc., Sarpanches and Local Panchayat Panches who led walking. Also local cultural performances like Geetru, Dogri Folk dances etc. took place in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. These performances offered the guests an unparalleled experience of discovering the unique culture of the Jammu region.
The main attraction of the show was LED Tron act and Laser Show. The intense color laser show with music ranging from Jai ho to Vande Matram left everyone in awe. LED Tron act performers connected through dance, music and light added to everyone’s enjoyment. The show ended with a virtual cracker show.
Surinsar Lake Festival was a dream come true for adventure and music lovers. The event offered a plethora of adventure activities like aid climbing, rope obstacle course, and more. as well as celebrations in the form of folk music, dance and laser show.
