Conshohocken Beer Festival on Conshohocken Borough Council’s April 6 agenda

Conshohocken Plymouth Whitemarsh (CPW) Rotary has announced that the future of the Conshohocken Beer Festival to be held at AA Garthwaite Stadium in Conshohocken will be on the agenda at the April 6 Conshohocken Borough Council meeting.

Below is the statement posted on CPW Rotary social media:

We get a lot of questions about this event, so we decided to give you a peek behind the curtain. We are planning Conshohocken Beer Festival 2022 now. These things take a long time to plan with a number of partners involved, but we are happy to say that we have completed the first stage of submitting a special event request to Conshohocken Borough and it will be submitted to a vote at their next Board meeting. If you are interested in showing your support for the event, feel free to attend. It’s open to the public! It will be this Wednesday 4/6 at Borough Hall (400 Fayette St, Conshohocken, PA) starting at 7 p.m. I hope you are all as excited as we are!

CPW Rotary leases the stadium from the Borough of Conshohocken and obtains a special occasion permit from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. produces and markets the event in conjunction with CPW Rotary (disclaimer). The event is a fundraiser for CPW Rotary and it allows them to serve and support the community.

The festival was launched in 2014 at the A. Stadium in Garthwaite. In 2015, the festival was held at The Proving Grounds, a sports ground on Conshohocken Road. Between 2016 and 2019 the festival was held at AA Garthwaite Stadium. It did not take place in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

AA Garthwaite Stadium is the perfect venue for the festival. It is freestanding due to the wall and its location allows most people to walk to and from the event. Even holding it as close as The Proving Grounds wasn’t the same.

If the Conshohocken borough council were to refuse the request, the festival would probably have to look for a new home outside the borough. Proving Grounds is no longer an option as the natural grass pitch used in 2015 is now artificial grass. There aren’t many good options nearby and none would keep it close to downtown Conshohocken.

Loved the festival and want to see it return to AA Garthwaite Stadium?

The easiest thing to do if you are a resident or a merchant in the borough is to send an email to your representative on the borough council. Just ask them to continue allowing CPW Rotary to lease AA Garthwaite Stadium for the Conshohocken Beer Festival. It is important that you do this if you wish to support the festival.

You can also attend the April 6 meeting, however, since this is a workshop meeting, the opportunity to offer public comment does not come until the vote. But a large crowd showing up to show support is encouraged and appreciated.

The meeting will take place at the borough all at 400 rue Fayette at 7:00 p.m.

If you are interested in participating in the festival as a brewery, food vendor, exhibitor or sponsor, email [email protected]
