Fife business lights up Scottish town centers for the festive season

ARRO Lighting and Events moved into Enterprise Hub Fife’s premises in Glenrothes two and a half years ago – and said it was perfect for their business.

The company was founded in 2014 by Aaron Andrews and Ross Syme, and they settled on Glenrothes when they were looking for an office where they could conduct national and international business.

ARRO has produced and delivered a wide range of projects across the UK, from Christmas illuminations to 3D mapping projections to working with architects to deliver artistic and cultural lighting installations, urban and landscape projects permanent, with design, imagination and creativity at the forefront.

Aaron said, “We really needed to be able to have a private space and the right work environment for our business. Our lighting is all sourced and manufactured in Spain to our designs, and it’s important that Ross and I can collaborate in the same space and have excellent broadband for our client zoom calls.

A three-year project saw ARRO design and supply Christmas lights in Dundee featuring comic characters from the Beano, and tap into the city’s maritime heritage for other displays. She recently designed and supplied new festive lights for Stirling city center influenced by 1950s/1960s nostalgia and based on the city’s traditional and historical heritage.

Aaron added: “It’s a lifelong passion of ours to be able to leave a legacy, wherever we install creations, and not just provide ready-to-use designs. We want visitors, tourists and residents to be able to immerse themselves in the storytelling of works of art that are relevant to individual streetscapes.

Enterprise Hub Fife is designed to provide enterprising individuals and start-ups with access to a facility that encourages collaboration and networking. The flexible workspace offers modern, professional and affordable offices as well as adaptable event space and private meeting rooms.

ARRO also received advice and support from Business Gateway Fife advisor Stephen Mitchell, who was able to secure expert assistance for the business to support copyright and legal contracts.
