Hundreds of performers enjoy the Edinburgh Festival carnival

Dancers, musicians and artists took to the streets to kick off this world famous event.

Princes Street was closed from 12.30pm to 4pm, to allow performers to parade from The Mound to West Princes Street Gardens – where locals enjoyed hours of free entertainment with one of the country’s biggest multicultural events featuring music dancing, music, fabulous costumes and more.

Over 800 performers took part in the carnival, which takes place every year, with performers from over 13 countries taking part in the event.
