LIVE: The return of the Celtic festival – KVRR Local News

Get your green this weekend, as it’s back for the first time since the pandemic hit.

Pinch us, because we can hardly believe this is happening.

Just in time for the 2022 St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, the Celtic Festival finally returns to the Hjemkomst Center this weekend.

The annual event attracts around 3,000 visitors each year, and due to heavy crowds it had to be canceled or held virtually for 2020 and 2021.

But this year, with the Covid numbers heading in the right direction, it’s back and in person.

It also runs at the same time as the St. Patrick’s Day Fargo Parade across the river.

Organizer Trevor Magnuson says that since the festival features traditional foods like scotch eggs, bangers and Irish mash and stew, it will likely attract a lot of visitors after the parade ends around lunchtime.

You can also attend concerts, traditional dances, storytelling and presentations on all aspects of life, history and culture in the Celtic nations.

Magnuson zoomed in live on the morning show to greet our viewers and tell us about all that you can see, do, hear, taste and feel at Celtic Festival.
