Malaika Arora’s Dilnaz Karbhary ivory saree is enhanced with intricate work

Malaika Arora opted for this look for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2022 in July 2022. “Malaika’s look is very feminine and soft. It is part of our ‘Girls of Summer’ collection. As a brand, we place great importance on garment design and embroidery, so that look and comfort are never compromised. Her sari is made of a soft net, which literally caresses her body. The drapery is embroidered with sequins and beads. We used about 20 different types of transparent and opaque glitter, and in different shapes and shades of ivory, from off-white to an eggshell hue. The result is that he created a water-based paint effect on the base of the saree. The pallu is further enhanced with feather detailing,” shares Dilnaz Karbhary, elaborating on the saree. Instead of a tried-and-true blouse, Arora’s look was paired with a risque corset-style top with thin, noodle-like straps. “We created a bustier for Malaika, which is delicately made with different kinds of beads, glass beads and crystal diamonds,” she adds.

Malaika Arora wore pearl jewelry with her ivory saree

In keeping with her head-to-toe pearl look, Malaika Arora wore pearl earrings from Anāash, as well as rings from Roopa Vohra Fine Jewellery. A custom silver clutch by Ahikoza completed her look. A romantic bun and makeup with soft smokey eyes, pink lips and lots of highlighter done for her beauty look. Karbhary suggests, “The Malaika saree is very versatile. You can wear this saree for your wedding reception or cocktail party. It would also make a great ring ceremony look. It all depends on how you style your saree with accessories. You can wear diamond and emerald jewelry to take it up a notch. Inspired to grab a leaf from Arora’s style book for the next big party on your calendar? Scroll through our edit below.
