Princeton native to open New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning Kids’ Concert

Best-Selling Children’s Recording Artist Laurie Berkner Recognized as the “Queen of Children’s Music” by “People magazine – will headline the children’s concert at the 39th Annual New Jersey Lottery Balloon Festival.

The Princeton native, who was the very first headliner of the children’s festival in 2017, will perform on opening day, Friday, July 29 at 1:30 p.m. at Solberg Airport in Readington.

Pre-sale tickets for festival patrons and social media followers of the event begin today with tickets for the general public going on sale Wednesday, February 23 at 10 a.m. at Ticket packages will include a limited number of VIP meeting opportunities.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the release of his debut album, “Whaddaya Think of That?” Berkner has released 14 best-selling albums, was the first artist to star in Nick Jr. music videos, and has written a number of picture books based on his songs.

“Laurie creates an unforgettable experience that will inspire a lifelong love of music,” said festival executive producer Howard Freeman. “We’re thrilled to continue presenting a concert dedicated to kids ages 2-8 and then fill the skies with giant, colorful hot air balloons, creating a day of lasting memories for everyone in the family.”

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be returning to the New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning this summer! I feel so lucky to be able to share my music in person with all the families there, under beautiful skies, alongside the excitement to watch the balloons fly away!” Berkner said.

The three-day festival, which runs from July 29-31, will feature gigantic, colorful hot air balloons filling the sky twice a day, as well as family-friendly entertainment such as concerts, fireworks and kiddie rides .
