Scarborough’s festive season is about to begin as Boyes Santa’s arrival is revealed
The department store, located on Queen Street in Scarborough, will unveil its Christmas window display on Thursday November 17. Then, on Saturday, November 19, Santa Claus will leave the North Pole and arrive at Scarborough Harbor at 11 a.m.
He will be hosted by Scarborough Christmas band Sixth Form, the cast of the YMCA Christmas production and crew members from This Is The Coast.
Chris Golder, Store Manager at Boyes, said: “We can’t wait, it’s such an exciting time of year for us at Boyes – we have a very busy time getting the grotto ready and filling it with goodies.
“There is no other day like greeting Santa Claus from the boat and seeing the faces of all the children as he makes his way through the crowds to his sleigh. This accompanied by the unveiling of our Christmas window is truly the start of Christmas for Scarborough and its town centre.
After being met at the port, Santa will drive through the city, via Eastborough, St Thomas Street, Castle Road and Queen Street, to the Boyes department store on Queen Street.
On his arrival, he will open his Grotto which will then remain open all day every Saturday and Sunday and Thursday and Friday afternoon until Christmas Eve from Saturday 19 November.
