JAMMU, June 10: Students showcased their talent as Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Jammu, in conjunction with J&K’s Department of Information and Public Relations, organized the `Media Manch Youth Festival-2022′, here today..
On this occasion, a dancing, singing and poetry recitation competition was held which was attended by more than 100 students from several colleges all over Jammu and Kashmir.
The one-day festival was opened by Namrata Dogra, Co-Director, Information and Public Relations Department, J&K. IIMC Director General, Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi was the special guest on this occasion. IIMC Jammu Regional Director, Prof. Rakesh Kumar Goswami welcomed the guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Sanjay Dwivedi said communication skills are essential for every person. Society needs to know the nuances of good communication, he added.
Namrata Dogra in her address said that the students of Jammu are very talented and this type of festival encourages them. Prof. Rakesh Goswami said IIMC is the first institute to nurture student skills.
During the farewell session, Prof. Ashok Aima, former VC, from Central University of Jammu, awarded the winners of the three competitions. In the poetry recitation contest, Deepak Kumar, Diksha and Ashita were the first, second and third winners respectively. Bharti Thakur, Eva Sandhu and Mavish Sharma were the first, second and third winners of the singing competition respectively. Saba and his group, Meenu Rukwal and Subrili Sharma were the first, second and third winners of the singing competition respectively.
The event was moderated by IIMC students Anushka, Debvrata, Tanya, Rishika, Ishika, Pooja, Priyanshi, Harshika and Shashank. The organizer of this event was Dr. Vinit Utpal, Assistant Professor, IIMC, Jammu. Professor Dilip Kumar, associate professor, and Sanjit Khajuria were also present.
