The Day – Rose Arts Festival announces competitions
The Rose Arts Festival, which will be held for the first time since the pandemic, has announced several competitions for local artists, athletes, cooks and chefs for the June 25 event.
The Rose Court Leadership Contest
Open to Southeast Connecticut youth ages 16-20 who exemplify pride in community involvement, intellect and leadership.
Prize money: $1,000, $500 and $250.
Deadline: May 20.
Awards ceremony: June 12 at the Mohegan Sun.

Budding artists competition
Open to 0-16 years and over
Grand Prize: $500
1st, 2nd, 3rd prize for age groups 0-7, 8-10, 11-15, 16+.
Deadline: June 20 for artwork entry, drop off at Reliance Health, 40 Broadway

Culinary competition
Open for fruit pies made by home cooks of all ages.
Price: $125, $75, $50.

Open to amateur cooks of all ages.

Open to runners and walkers of all ages.
Date: Morning of June 25 at 8:30 a.m.
Start: Reynolds Road, next to Norwich Free Academy

The Rose Arts Festival, Norwich’s biggest public event, will be held on Chelsea Green, outside the NFA, on Saturday June 25 from noon to 7 p.m. later related events in Norwich city centre.
