Big news: There’s a new festival in San Diego County this weekend, but it’s a lot smaller than you might think.

TinyFest California moves into the Del Mar Fairgrounds for the weekend, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday (and Sunday) to showcase Tiny Houses.

While many struggle to find affordable housing, NBC 7’s Artie Ojeda shows how some people make the gigantic decision to move into a tiny living space.

The owners of the houses come from all over and are eager to share how they went from a big life to a more condensed lifestyle. Attendees can experience vans, backyard cabins and school buses, or “skoolies,” that have been converted into living spaces.
