YOASOBI Perform ‘Sukida’ at ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2022: Watch – Billboard
J-pop duo YOASOBI have shared a new live performance video of their latest single titled “Sukida,” which will be featured in an advertisement for Ichikami hair care products.
The track was born out of a collaborative project between the duo and four Naoki Award-winning female authors who wrote stories under the theme “a story to read when you do”. [something] for the first time.” “Sukida” was inspired by the story “Hikari no tane” (“Seed of Light”) by Eto Mori, included in the collection Hajimet no (“…for the first time”). The tale comes with a subtitle which means “the story to read when you tell someone you love them for the first time”.
The new TV commercials for Ichikami feature Mei Nagano and Yoshiaki Higashi in a story about “farewell and reunion” on the YOASOBI trail. The 60-second version of the commercial, which can also be seen on the brand’s special website, features a string arrangement of “Sukida” written especially for this collaboration. Ads will begin running in Japan on Friday, September 9 local time.
The footage of the duo and backing band performing the song live was shot on August 6 at ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2022, where YOASOBI made their music festival debut.
